ARTS@SAFRA Open Call
SAFRA Punggol & SAFRA Toa Payoh are calling for proposals from interested artists, arts groups and arts intermediaries for Arts@SAFRA programmes to be held between Apr 2020 – Mar 2022 at the clubhouses.
SAFRA have partnered the National Arts Council as part of its Arts and Culture Nodes initiative since September 2015 to engage and bond NSmen and their families through arts programmes under Arts@SAFRA.
Arts@SAFRA aims to bring a year-round of engaging and quality arts activities by established artists and arts groups to SAFRA members and the public regularly, generate awareness and develop better appreciation of the arts.
The target audiences for Arts@SAFRA at SAFRA Punggol and Toa Payoh are mainly families with young children.

All proposed programmes should have a clear arts component and foster basic understanding and appreciation of the arts. Proposals should be suitable for general audiences, especially families with young children. They should incorporate interactive, engagement or educational elements in order to enhance the audience experience.
Artists/art groups are required to submit programme proposals in line with the following celebrations/theme below.

- (Jan/Feb) Chinese New Year (Year of the Ox in 2021 & Tiger in 2022)
- (Jun) School Holidays (There should be bonding opportunities for parents and child)

- (Jan) Chinese New Year (Year of the Ox in 2021 & Tiger in 2022)
|(A) Performance or Installation
Performances should be 45 – 60 min and must include interactive elements and audience engagement. The proposal could also include pre/ post-show activities for audiences to gain deeper appreciation of the performance.
The installation will be on displayed for a minimum of 1 week. It should be visually impactful, interest the public and is interactive.
|(B) Workshop or Fringe Activity
Workshop is to be no longer than 2 hours and should preferably be related to the performance or installation in (A). It should cater for 20 to 30 pax.
- Fringe Activity
Fringe activity is to be no longer than 15 min and must be relatively easy for the public to participate at any time. The fringe activity should cater for at least 100 pax.
Performance spaces are usually held at each SAFRA club atrium or in semi-sheltered space. Venue matching will be done in consultation with selected artists and arts groups based on availability and suitability of venues.
Requirements Upon Appointment Of Programme
Artists whose proposals have been shortlisted will be notified through email by 15 Apr 2020. SAFRA may contact the shortlisted artists from April 2020 to March 2022 for further discussion.
There is no restriction to the number of proposals to be submitted. Each form (Annex B) is to be filled up with 1 programme only. Incomplete or late proposals will not be considered. An email acknowledgement will be sent when your proposals are received in good order.
Please send in the completed proposal forms consisting of Annex B and Curriculum Vitae (outlining relevant experience and track record) and email by 10 Mar 2020.
